Abstract

The E. Zezicodendron complex appears to be composed of 2 distinct species. After examination of the available types, the first species is found to be E. alluaudii Drake, the second previously undescribed, is named E. famatamboajr. A new subspecies of the latter, subsp. itanipolensis is described and the species known as E. oncoclada is reduced to a subspecies of E. alluaudii. The two species are rather widely distributed and have evolved similarly into two more localised and ecologically specialised subspecies
