Reversing neuropathic deficits

Abstract

This is a brief review of several novel strategies for therapeutic approaches to axonal damage in peripheral neuropathies. Although not comprehensive, the review addresses the challenges in axonal regrowth, newly identified roadblocks to regeneration and the concept of collateral reinnervation to restore lost neurological function. © 2012 Peripheral Nerve Society.
