Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the abilities that must be developed in every student. One way is to facilitate students with quality instruments, so the purpose of this study is to analyze the quality of test instruments to measure the critical thinking skills of junior high school students on geometry material in terms of validity, reliability, distinguishing power and difficulty index using the help of SPSS 29 software and Microsoft excel. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The subjects of this study were junior high school students in grade VIII. The sample was selected using purpose sampling technique. The test results concluded that: (1) the quality of the critical thinking ability test instrument meets 100% valid, (2) the reliability of the critical thinking ability test instrument of 0.912 is in the very high category, (3) the results of the analysis of the distinguishing power of the question show that question numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 have good criteria, (4) the results of the difficulty index analysis show that question numbers 1, 2, 4 and 5 have moderate interpretation, while question numbers 3 and 6 have easy interpretation.
