Abstract

Contribution to the study of the Palearctic Batrisodes (Coleoptera: Pselaphidae). In this paper, six groups of species are proposed for the 19 Palearctic Batrisodes (Japan except); a key to these 19 species is given, four species {pogonatus Saulcy, insularis Baudi, exsculptus Hampe and pruinosus Reitt.) are redescribed, three new species (sulcaticeps n.sp., clypeatus n. sp. and rousi n. sp.) are described, numerous localities are given for nearly all species. The eventual existence of an (unnamed) parthenogenetic species (allied with buqueti Aube and adnexus Hampe) in Western and Central Europe is discussed.
