Abstract

Regent University began in 1978 as a graduate school in communication founded by Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network. It has since grown to 5,300 residential and distance education students in 8 school divisions. This study examines events that led to the founding of Regent and its development as a Christian institution of higher education. It incorporates the use of historical narrative methodologies and organizational life cycles. Primary sources came through extensive interviews conducted with 18 current and former senior Regent faculty and administrators. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
