Abstract

Objective. To study social-psychological predictors of different types of addictive behavior. Material and methods. Thirty-six patients, aged 22-50 years, with different addictions (nicotine dependence, alcohol dependence, drug dependence, Internet addiction, extreme sports addiction) were studied. A questionnaire for assessment of personality accentuation, the Life Style Index, The world assumptions scale and the Rokeach Value Survey were administered. Results and conclusion. Social-psychological predictors of the types of addictive behavior were identified.
