Abstract
A new ideology is emerging : the "precautionnism". The purpose of this ideology is to unconditionally apply the precautionary principle. In other words, it is a social expression of how our mind is lost when it represents the risk. The conditions of contemporary societies promote the spread of this ideology that has economic and sometimes public health consequences. The aim of this paper is to make visible the cognitive structures of this collective illusion (overestimation of low probabilities, overestimation of costs versus benefits, disjunction effect...) by showing how it hybridizes with contextual and political variables. © P.U.F.
