Abstract

This research is entitled The meaning of bribery and cacap-cacapan in traditionalmarriage in Palembang city. This research discusses the phenomenon of the meaning of bribes andcacapan-cacapan which is carried out at traditional marriages in the city of Palembang. Bribes andcacap-cacapan are the last care of parents and extended families in the form of feeding the brideand groom with roasted chicken turmeric sticky rice and sprinkling setananam flower soaking wateron the bride's head. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The aim of this research isto describe the meaning of bribes and remarks and what the meaning of each procession is to beundertaken. Based on the results of research on the meaning of bribery and speech, this posessionis a positive thing which contains prayers and hopes from parents, family and closest people.
