Abstract

Focuses on the implications of the merger between America Online (AOL) Inc. and Time Warner Inc. for the Internet and mass media industries. Expectation of cost savings, job losses and synergies from the deal; Acquisition of intellectual property rights by AOL in order to fill out its Internet services and stay ahead of the competition; Acceleration of the digital transformation of Time Warner.
