Abstract
To weaken the end effect and improve the uniformity of axial deformation of tube, a electromagnetic bulging method of tube based on uniform pressure driving tube loading was proposed. The basic working principle of the electromagnetic bulging of tube and magnetic collector was introduced. The electromagnetic-structure coupling finite element model was established using COMSOL commercial software, and the electromagnetic force distribution and deformation behavior of tube with different driving tube heights, height ratios between driving tube and tube were studied. The results show that the maximum uniform area of axial deformation increases from 8.9 mm to 34 mm based on uniform pressure driving tube loading, which is an increase of nearly three times. Through simulation analysis, it is verified that the introduction of uniform pressure driving tube can effectively solve the problem of uneven axial deformation of tube electromagnetic bulging. The heights of tube and driving tube were reasonably designed, which can effectively inhibit the thinning problem of wall thickness in tube forming process.
