Strategies for Realizing the Benefits of 3D Integrated Modeling of Buildings for the AEC Industry

Abstract

We explore the reasons why advanced information technology applicationshave not been adopted by the AEC industry. Within the industry, however,some sectors have made significant moves toward adoption of advancedIT. By examining these areas of success, we propose a framework forthe incremental conversion of the AEC industry to fully incorporateadvanced IT.
