Abstract
This issue contains 10 papers on human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) in the Caribbean Region and Latin America. The prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Brazil, Argentina and Peru, and efforts to control and prevent spread of HIV/AIDS are discussed. Problems in providing health services to various population groups (injecting drug users, sex workers, men who have sex with men, migrants, gang members) are also tackled.
