History of reference texts in the construction of feminist discourse in the 21st century as a strategy against its media devaluation

Abstract

The fourth wave of feminism was born in the 21st century characterized by being a mass movement, intersectional, intergenerational, cyberactive and with difficulties in establishing its own agenda. It arises from a political theory built in the last years of the 20th century, when feminist theory was questioned internally by the alliance between a sector of feminism and postmodern ideas. The result is a deep, complex and nuanced discourse that, however, appears in contentless media narratives. This article proposes the transfer of feminist knowledge against the translation of feminist theory by the media and social networks into frivolity, “culture war” and even hate speech.
