Abstract

This chapter presents a new narrative pedagogy methodology to offer a therapeutic praxis and social consciousness. The aim is to introduce us to new liberating spaces, perspectives and people. Narratives are instrumental in the formation of personal and communal identity and character. The Confession of Belhar, as an embodied narrative, is offered as pedagogy of formation and transformation. Especially, in terms of post-1994 communities confronted with the psychosocial and socioeconomic scars of apartheid. One of the mental and systemic obstacles in South Africa today is the inability of leaders to address deep questions and to search for deep answers. In
