Regional networked manufacturing system

Abstract

Some new revolutions and important influences to manufacturing industry are coming in present time, owing to the development of network technology especially the technology of Internet/Intranet/Extranet. Manufacturing globalization and manufacturing based on network have become one of the primary development trends of modern manufacturing industry. In order to adapt this development tendency, one kind of new manufacturing based on network- 'regional networked manufacturing system (RNMS)' is put forward, and the architecture and running characteristics of RNMS are discussed. The RNMS has been interesting a lot of enterprises and some regional governments. In Chongqing of China, the RNMS is being implemented. The progress and primary achievements show the RNMS is practical.
