Abstract
Reviews the book, Women's Career Development Throughout the Lifespan: An International Exploration edited by Jenny Bimrose, Mary McMahon, and Mark Watson (see record 2015-00380-000). This book provides essential insight about women's career development within the social, political, and economic contexts as well as from an international and multidisciplinary perspective. The findings of a qualitative study of older women's career stories in nine countries use grounded theory and form the foundation of the book. The book is organized into three parts: (a) the international context and multidisciplinary research perspectives; (b) compelling results of national studies reflecting the voices of older women (aged 45-65) from Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, England, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and South Africa; and (c) critical implications for career theory, research, policy, and practice.
