Abstract
Using a ternary gradient system, over 50 carotenoids, chlorophylls and their derivatives were separated from marine phytoplankton. Pigment chromatograms are presented for 12 unialgal cultures from 10 algal classes: Amphidinium carterae (Dinophyceae); Chroomonas salina (Cryptophyceae); Dunaliella tertiolecta (Chlorophyceae); Emiliania huxleyi and Pavlova lutheri (Prymnesiophyceae); Euglena gracilis (Euglenophyceae); Micromonas pusilla and Pycnococcus provasolii (Prasinophyceae); Pelagococcus subviridis (Chrysophyceae); Phaeodactylum tricornutum (Bacillariophyceae); Porphyridium cruentum (Rhodophyceae), and Synechococcus sp. (Cyanophyceae). -from Authors
