Abstract

This study examines the potential of implementing sustainable electric shuttle services on the Bandung-Jakarta route, a high-traffic corridor in Indonesia. The research explores infrastructure readiness, regulatory frameworks, and the challenges of transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs). It highlights that while the initial capital costs for EVs are high, the long-term environmental benefits-such as emission reductions and improved air quality-are significant. The study also identifies challenges, including limited charging infrastructure, regulatory barriers, and risks such as flooding and extreme weather conditions. To overcome these obstacles, a holistic approach involving collaboration between government, industry, and shuttle operators is necessary. Technological innovations, such as route optimization, smart grids, and EV infrastructure, are essential for the successful implementation of electric shuttles. By adopting these innovations, Indonesia can achieve its sustainability goals, reduce carbon emissions, and improve public transportation.
