Abstract
Abstract In article number 1804801, Artemios Karvounis and co‐workers report on the first experimental realization of a metamaterial electrostrictor. They demonstrate that an all‐dielectric, nanomechanical metamaterial can be deformed under the application of an electric field and can serve as an electro‐optic modulator with effective electrostriction and electro‐optic coefficients of the order of 10 −13 m 2 V −2 and 10 −6 m V −1, respectively.
