Abstract
Induk pada sub Cekungan Banyumas dan Serayu Utara, RISET-Geologi dan Pertambangan Jilid 15 No.1 Tahun 2005, hal. 1-12, 5 gambar, 4 foto, 2 tabel. Abstract: The purpose of the study which has been carried out in the Banjarnegara, Wonosobo and Kebumen areas, was to investigate whether the surface samples of fine-grained clastic sediments, including their lithofacies characteristics, possess source rock potential. Nine samples have been analyzed for their total Organic Carbon (TOC) content. The results indicate that TOC values varying between 0.08 % to 1.42 %. The analyses indicate that 2 samples possess good potential, 3 samples showing moderate potential and the remaining 4 samples as having no potential to generate hydrocarbon. Rock eval Pyrolysis was conducted on 5 samples with potential hydrocarbon generating characteristics, with HI values between 26 to 95 mg HC/g TOC. Based on the HI evaluation parameter value of source rocks (Waples, 1985), those sample are of the CD and D organic facies. These type source rocks are potentially capable of generating small quantities of gas. The preliminary results from the outcrop observation indicate that the fine-grained clastic rocks in Banjarnegara might have been deposited in a dysaerob environment.
