Abstract

The multifaceted problem of the fight against obesity and diabetes in México, revolves around two main factors. The first one focuses on food labelling, which aims to inform consumers about the nutritional content and information. However, this objective es hampered by not having a standardized code that consumers can understand. The second factor is the absence of food education for consumers to change their eating habits. This situation raises the question of innovating these labels through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) with QR Codes and augmented reality as allies to make labelling information more complete, precise and understandable for consumers, and to contribute to their nutritional education.
