Abstract

Direct nitration of a variety of furans, pyrroles, thiophenes, pyrazoles, imidazoles, isoxazoles and thiazoles (17 compounds) with nitric acid/trifluoroacetic anhydride affords mononitro derivatives in average yield of 60 %. © ARKAT.
