Abstract
For the last three decades, the debate on sustainable development has been characterized by a narrow policy of development and the environment leaving a wide margin for interpretation. These interpretations often do not match those of those who use market forces as well as multinational corporations to better actualize development. Rather, they stem from theories that believe in a fundamental reconceptualization of the economy and the environment for real change to occur. In a theoretical approach, this article attempts to analyze economic growth and the complexity of the notion of sustainable development.
