Abstract

The text considers vulnerability, mainly in diseases with bad prognosis, as in the case of cancer. Questions such as transcendence and death are possibilities that occur in boundary situations and the need of caring is called on. Nursing is a profession that has the privilege to be with in these circumstances offering comfort, not only physical, but spiritual as well. The text, has a proposal to reflect upon these topics, highlighting caring as a differential of humanistic value.
