Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the role of the Via Organic Route in the construction of new markets for agroecological products. It discusses the process of insertion of family farmers in short agrofood chains, building alternative markets based on Rural tourism. The method adopted was the case study, bibliographical research and interviews with participants of the Via Organic Route. It was verified that the Via Organic is a potential opportunity to generate income and build alternative markets, as tourists consume the products sold during the tour and buy it to take with them. In parallel, it was verified that the network established among the participants of the route also allows the markets connection, with the exchange of products and experiences, strengthening family farming. However, the commitment of all and support from public entities are essential to consolidate the route over time.
