TRANSPLANTE RENAL: AVANÇOS, DESAFIOS E RESULTADOS A LONGO PRAZO: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Abstract

Introdução: O transplante renal representa um dos maiores avanços da medicina moderna, sendo considerado o tratamento de escolha para pacientes com insuficiência renal crônica terminal. Metodologia: Para a coleta dos dados, foi realizada uma busca sistemática nas principais bases de dados científicas, incluindo PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science e SciELO. As palavras-chave utilizadas na busca foram "transplante renal", "avanços no transplante renal", "desafios do transplante renal", "resultados a longo prazo no transplante renal", "imunossupressão", "rejeição crônica" e "qualidade de vida pós-transplante". Resultado: Os avanços na terapia imunossupressora são um dos pilares do sucesso do transplante renal. A introdução de medicamentos como a ciclosporina na década de 1980 revolucionou o manejo do transplante, reduzindo drasticamente as taxas de rejeição aguda. Conclusão: Em conclusão, o transplante renal continua a ser uma intervenção que salva vidas e melhora significativamente a qualidade de vida dos pacientes com insuficiência renal crônica.Introduction: Kidney transplantation represents one of the greatest advances in modern medicine, being considered the treatment of choice for patients with end-stage chronic renal failure. Methodology: To collect data, a systematic search was carried out in the main scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and SciELO. The keywords used in the search were "kidney transplant", "advances in kidney transplantation", "kidney transplant challenges", "long-term results in kidney transplantation", "immunosuppression", "chronic rejection" and "quality of life post-transplant". Result: Advances in immunosuppressive therapy are one of the pillars of successful kidney transplantation. The introduction of medications such as cyclosporine in the 1980s revolutionized transplant management, drastically reducing acute rejection rates. Conclusion: In conclusion, kidney transplantation continues to be a life-saving intervention and significantly improves the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure.
