Abstract

This paper reviews the characteristics of gel dosimetry that make it desirable for clinical use, the postulated and demonstrated applications of gel dosimetry, and some complications, setbacks, and failures that have contributed to the slow introduction into routine clinical use. © 2006 IOP Publishing Ltd.
