Abstract

The paper presents numerical investigation of flow stabilization in a channel with rapid change of flow direction and with double square ducts. The work was motivated by problems with obtaining satisfied velocity profile in experimental stand used for analysis of drying of porous building materials. Desired profile should be parabolic and similar in both ducts. Considered case precluded application of flow guides in bends because inlet flow profile had irregular character. Additionally, rapid change of flow direction is used to mix supplied water utilized for relative humidity stabilization. In investigation eleven cases were considered, i.e., application of semi-cylindrical turbulators with different geometries to change maximum velocity location, array stabilizer made of small channels and porous medium in different configurations. From the all examined cases application of the porous medium with small channels as array stabilizer gave the best results.
