Os crustáceos parasitos de peixes da Amazônia Brasileira. II - Ergasilus leporinidis n. sp. (Copepoda: Cyclopoidea) das branquias de Leporinus fasciatus (Bloch)

Abstract

Resumo Ergasilus leporimdis n. sp. é descrita de um peixe amazônico chamado aracu (Anostomidae: Leporinus fasciatus (Bloch). A nova espécie é semelhante à E. bryconis Thatcher, 1981, mas carece da seta pectinada no terceiro segmento do primeiro exopódito. Além disso, a nova espécie é menor, tem a segunda antena mais comprida e tem um "sensillus" proeminente no terceiro segmento dessa antena e não no segundo.Summary Ergasilus leoporindis n. sp. is described from an Amazonian fish called the "Aracu" (Anostomidae: Leporinus fasciatus (Bloch). The new species is similar to E. bryconis Thatcher. 1981. but it lacks the pectinate seta on the third segment of the first exopodite. Also, the new species is smaller, has a longer second antenna and the single projecting sensillus of this antenna is on the third segment and not on the second.
