Abstract

The original version of this article contained two errors introduced during production that were not identified prior to publication: Table 1 should have appeared earlier in the article in the 'Method' section. An abbreviation in the 'Acknowledgements' was incorrectly expanded upon and referred to a British Journal of Cancer rather than the intended British Journal of Criminology. These errors have now been corrected and the publisher apologises for their introduction.
