Abstract

In this study a modified model, using a non linear estimation of strain hardening rate vs. strain up to the critical stress, has been developed to predict single peak dynamic recrystallization (DRX) flow stress curves. The critical stress and strain for initiation of dynamic recrystallization were determined using: (1) the strain hardening rate versus stress curve, (2) the constitutive equation. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the compound model, the mean error was calculated. The results indicate that the proposed model give a good estimate of the flow stress curves. © 2012 ISIJ.
