Abstract

This is the first report of an isolation of C. jejuni from cow's milk during an outbreak of infection. In this outbreak, the epidemic strain was cultured twice from the milk of an apparently healthy cow but neither time from the feces. This result suggests that the organism was shed in the milk as a result of low-grade mastitis rather than a result of fecal contamination.
