Sobre el papel de la ideología en la caracterizacion de las formaciones sociales. la formacion social Islamica

Abstract

This paper aims at drawing a more operative distinction of social formations than the one currently in use by historical materialism. In order to do so, it pinpoints the role of ideology as interdependent with relations of production and analyses the case study of Islamic ideology through its theorical discourses and its representation in material culture. It also compares Islamic ideology with the ideology ofeudalism, another tributary formation, and with the bur-geois ideology of capitalism.
