Catalogue of type specimens of beetles (Coleoptera) deposited in the National Museum, Prague, Czech Republic Scarabaeoidea: Lucanidae and Passalidae

Abstract

Type specimens from the collection of beetles (Coleoptera) deposited in the Department of Entomology, National Museum, Prague, are currently being catalogued. In this part of catalogue dealing with scarabaeoid families Lucanidae and Passalidae, we present information on types of Lucanidae (fi ve taxa of Lucaninae, four taxa of Syndesinae), and Passalidae (one taxon of Aulacocyclinae, ten taxa of Passalinae). Passalids, all from Nickerls’ collection, were previously studied by August Ferdinand Kuwert; comments are given also on specimens of 12 taxa labelled as types incorrectly.
