Hormonal control and methods of measuring sebaceous gland activity

Abstract

The methods of measurement of sebum production are reviewed. The control by steroid hormones (testosterone and progesterone, estradiol and antiandrogenic steroids) and the role of the pituitary gland (routes of control, hypophysectomy etc.) are discussed.
