Abstract
This article discusses the theoretical developments supporting the description of a new syndrome - the Ulysses Syndrome, also known as Immigrant Syndrome with Chronic and Multiple Stress - detected In Non-EU Immigrants. The diagnostic criteria that lead to the recognition of this syndrome have been disseminated with the support of the European Parliament. The importance given by Parliament, to a problem that affects non-EU citizens poses an inquiry into the aims it pursues.
