Abstract

The article presents information on the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., which specializes in serving wounded American soldiers. It focuses on a series of articles in the "Washington Post" newspaper from 2007, which documented the shortcomings in the hospital's systems of care. An overview of the institution's history and the experiences of American combat veterans is provided.
