Abstract

The author focuses on the cost of cancer care that is rapidly increasing the expenses of the patients. Expensive targeted therapies are increasing and the normal cost of treating common cancers is on the rise quickly with drugs of cancer care covering almost 40 percent of overall costs. It mentions a study by researcher Zafar and colleagues that reveals a financial burden on patients who hence reduce spending on basic necessities and used the savings to pay for medical expenses.
