Abstract
In recent years, many infectious veterinary diseases have caused massive losses in India's poultry population. These illnesses have a substantial impact on mortality, morbidity, and case fatality rates, resulting in large economic losses, as well as decreased productivity in the chicken industry. Infectious bursal disease (IBD) is sometimes called Gumboro disease. It is regarded as a highly infectious and epidemic disease that mainly spreads among poultry, turkeys, and wild birds through a virus. IBD is considered in the top 5 infectious diseases affecting chickens and birds which is a huge global threat and has caused many economic losses and welfare concerns. Direct impact on mortality from 3% to 30% depends upon the degree of protection of the birds and the form of the disease. The present review discusses about structure, serotypes, hosts & route and diagnosis of IBD and also collects information regarding surveillance and genomic analysis of IBD.
