Abstract
In this article the results of the project "Map of Communication Research in Spanish Universities from 2007 to 2018" are presented from the perspective of the research methods and techniques employed in the main scientific practices carried out in Spain over the last ten years: R + D + i projects, scientific articles published in indexed journals, communications presented at the congresses of the Spanish Association of Communication Researchers (AEIC) and doctoral theses in the field of Communication. The conclusions tend to corroborate the initial hypothesis, which confirms content analysis as the most widely used technique in scientific practices in the field of Communication, although, to a lesser extent, other social research techniques are also used: Discourse analysis, in-depth interviews and surveys.
