Abstract

We report the successful salvage of mother and baby after a perimortem cesarean delivery (PMCD) complicated by a 21-minute asystolic maternal cardiac arrest (MCA) that was precipitated by a pulmonary embolism during the early stages of induction of labor. With rapid PMCD, recovery of maternal quality of life is possible even after prolonged resuscitation.; Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.
