Abstract
CH4-CO2 reforming process can convert CH4 while utilizing a large amount of CO2, thus becoming a green chemical technology and attracting wide attention. Nevertheless, thermodynamic characteristics of this process determine that the reaction requires high operating temperature and its side reactions lead to carbon deposition. The main challenge for industrial applications of this process is to solve the deactivation problem of Ni-based catalysts induced by sintering and carbon deposition. This review summarizes the research progress of CH4-CO2 reforming and Ni-based catalysts and forecasts the future study.
