Abstract

Electronic Music synthesizers have recently taken advantage of new integrated circuit technology to make major advances in sound generation possibilities and ease of use. Micro-processor controlled analog synthesizers have become very popular, and all-digital synthesizers are coming out of the lab and becoming available to the musician. With electronic memory storage capability rising with its cost dropping, elaborate sequencers are also becoming more available at reasonable costs. These trends, as well as possible future developments, will be discussed.
