Abstract

Considering the increasing demands of the contemporary world to the organizations, the Office of Project Management of the Government of the State is presented as a response to this demand. This paper aims to analyze the main challenges faced by the office in the implementation phase, structured in general challenges and also in those of the specific areas of knowledge management projects. For this, the organization searches were performed using quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Five individuals were interviewed. The survey results indicated that the biggest challenges are related directly to the culture and organizational structure of the State Government and that the areas of knowledge Risk and Integration were the furthest from an ideal application for the implantation project of the Projects’ Office.
