Abstract

Tomato is a horticultural plant that is needed by the community in their daily needs. Bener Meriah and Aceh Tengah are regencies in Aceh Province which have the largest land area and amount of tomato production in Aceh. One of the real problems is the slow pace of farmers in adopting superior seeds to support production in Bener Meriah and Central Aceh Regencies. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the decision of tomato farmers in adopting tomato farmers in adopting superior seeds and in Bener Meriah District and Central Aceh District. The sampling technique was carried out by quota sampling which involved 60 respondents. This research uses descriptive binary logistic regression. Results Based on the research of binary logistic regression analysis in Bener Meriah Regency and Central Aceh Regency are age variables that tend to adopt superior seeds by 0.040 times compared to unproductive age, farming experience variable category 10 years tends to be superior 0.110 times compared to farming experience 10 years and the development variable following the application of seeds 18,794 times compared to not following the extension. Meanwhile, the variables of education level and land area had no significant effect on the adoption of superior tomato seeds in Bener Meriah and Central Aceh Districts.
