Abstract

Since the original description of this syndrome it has been refined and several other manifestations related to it have been particularised. Hepatic, adrenal, pulmonary, cerebral, neuropsychiatric, and cardiac associations as well as others are now recognised and the syndrome clearly is still being evaluated. Our leader this month looks at its present protean status and this may well be amended again in the near future.
