Message from the Editors to Our Reviewers

Abstract

As we look back on 2020 and early 2021, we have immense gratitude to you, the dedicated reviewers for Neurology®. Over the past year, we faced many challenges, including a large increase in the number of submissions and the need for expedited review for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related manuscripts, and this put enormous demands on our reviewers. Despite the sharp increase in submissions in 2020, from 5,391 in 2019 to 7,548 (40% increase), the time that our reviewers took to complete their work decreased in 2020 (22 days) compared with 2019 (28 days). Peer review is essential to what we do, and the success of the journal is due in large part to you.
