Abstract

The task of protecting the test current measurement circuit is important in the design of AC test voltage sources. Scheme for measuring the test current is proposed. The developed circuit uses high-speed Schottky diodes. This paper describes a prototype. The prototype was created in the researching laboratory stand for test current measurement circuit protection. Prototype protects the test current measurement circuit during insulation breakdowns and full discharges. Current measurement circuit protection implementation allows to restrict high frequency pulses with an amplitude of more than 405 mV and to develops different kind of protective devices based on it. Such devices are very useful when testing insulation with increased voltage from 1 kV to 6 kV. Research results can be used in high-voltage technology.
