Hunter‐Gatherer/Farmer Exchange

Abstract

A survey of reported cases of farmer and hunter‐gatherer economic exchange indicates that more studies of such interactions might prove fruitful. Careful comparison of two such cases—the Mbuti‐Bantu relationship of Africa (Turnbull 1965) and Agta‐Palanan exchange on the northeast coast of the Philippines (J.
