Abstract

A correlation analysis of daily rainfall in the Jordan Valley has been undertaken, both within the Valley itself and in relation to the surrounding hilly areas in Israel and Jordan. Results show the well-known rain deficiency of the Jordan Valley, also a high degree of independence of rainfall in the Valley relative to the areas surrounding it. This independence is explained in terms of the timing of rain events and their localness.- from Author
